Selva celebrates 40 years of timeless beauty in London

On Tuesday 23rd September, company CEO Philipp Selva hosted a VIP evening in the UK. Taking place within the Italian Cultural Institute, the evening celebrated the 40th anniversary of the brand and was the ideal opportunity to showcase selected pieces designed by long-term Selva collaborator, the internationally renowned designer Lorenzo Bellini.

One hundred VIP guests, including clients, members of the press and representatives of the Italian Embassy, viewed the fabulous displays of Selva furniture, which included pieces from collections including Solitaire and Bijoux. Philipp Selva presented Counsellor Stefano Stefanile of the Italian Embassy with a beautifully crafted Selva armoire that will remain in place at the Italian Cultural Institute as a reminder of the beauty of Selva’s Italian craftsmanship.

One of the finest features of the Selva brand that elevates it above the competition is the expert craftsmanship that goes into every piece of its furniture. In an echo of the strong family values that underscore Selva as a company, many of the highly skilled workers employed to create Selva furniture have also passed down their rare skills from generation to generation. Under the patronage of first Josef Selva and now his
son, Philipp, these traditional skills will be safely preserved for generations to come.

Master joiners and cabinet makers prepare every Selva piece by hand from top quality, ethically sourced wood in Selva’s workshops in Isola Rizza near Verona, where the tradition of artistic woodworking can be chronicled back to the 14th century. Each item of furniture is painstakingly crafted and finished to individual client requirements. The attention to detail ensures that every Selva creation becomes an instant classic that will appreciate in value and become a treasured possession at the centre of any home.

To mark its 40th anniversary in London, Selva joined together with the interior designers of world famous London flagship store Harrods, to furnish eight of its window displays, showcasing the very best in Italian menswear designers, with brands like Prada and Gucci sitting alongside selected pieces from the Selva range.
